Washington University of Science and Technology (WUST), in collaboration with RV Institute of Management (RVIM), successfully co-hosted the 9th International Joint Conference on Advances in Computational Intelligence (IJCACI 2025) on August 23–24. The two-day hybrid conference brought together leading scholars, researchers, and industry professionals from around the world to highlight cutting-edge research and applications in computational intelligence.
The event opened at WUST’s Alexandria, Virginia campus with keynote addresses, plenary talks, and multiple technical sessions. Engr. Abubokor Hanip, Chairman and Chancellor of WUST, joined as Chief Guest, stressing the importance of global collaboration to advance technology research. Dr. Hasan K. Burk, President of WUST, addressed the audience as Guest of Honor, underscoring the value of research in driving academic progress. The conference was co-chaired by Dr. Touhid Bhuiyan, Assistant Director of WUST’s School of IT and Dr. Jagdis Bansal, General Secretary of the Soft Computing Research Society.
On Day 1, 22 distinguished scholars, researchers, and industry leaders were recognized with certificates and crests for their contributions to academia and technology. Honorees included representatives from organizations such as Cisco, Oracle, Barclays, OKTA, eBay, LinkedIn, FedEx, Bank of America, Mphasis, Accenture, JP Morgan, Zscaler, and other industry professionals from multiple different states across the USA, ensuring a wide variety of expertise and perspective.
The plenary keynote was delivered by Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Jahangirnagar University and Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh, who highlighted how computational intelligence can address pressing global challenges.
A total of 859 research papers were submitted to IJCACI 2025. Of these, 82 were selected for presentations across two plenary sessions, seven keynote addresses, and 18 technical sessions held over the two-day conference. Hundreds of researchers, educators, and professionals from 12 countries—including the United States, India, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Greece, Morocco, Peru, Senegal, Serbia, South Africa, and Uzbekistan—presented their work and actively participated in the sessions.
Day 1 featured ten parallel sessions on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data-driven problem-solving, chaired by WUST faculty Dr. Amalisha Sabie-Aridi, Prof. Mahmood Menon Khan, and Prof. Md. Golam Mostofa.
Day 2, hosted by RVIM in Bangalore, India, included additional keynote addresses, hybrid paper presentations, and a valedictory ceremony. In total, 82 scholarly papers were presented by hundreds of authors representing 12 countries, including the USA, India, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Greece, Morocco, Peru, Senegal, Serbia, South Africa, and Uzbekistan.
